The Town of MonumentMonument is located just north of Colorado Springs off I-25 in central Colorado and is home to nearly 7,000 people. Although Monument is a smallish town, it's location provides access to everything the big city might offer. Just a few minutes from Colorado Springs and less than an hour from Denver, Monument provides access to the mountains on one side and the city on the other. Monument has supermarkets, schools, a variety of restaurants and shops, several access points to the National Forest and hosts a list of fun small town events. Unlike some other USFS helibase locations, we are lucky to have our base of operations in such a spot.
Although we offer barracks for our seasonal crew, off-base housing opportunities are unlimited. Recreational activities are similarly numerous; you won't have any trouble finding something to do on days off! |
